Head of Operations ( Facility Management -DC\'s)

KCM Recruitment is working with an established DC main contractor seeking an entrepreneurial Operations Director to lead a new division focused on facility management solutions within the European Data Center market. This key leadership role will be responsible for driving growth and operational excellence across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build and scale operations from the ground up and drive business development initiatives. You will receive full support from the company. This role is ideal for a senior FM professional ready to take on a pivotal role in a fast-growing startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit, hire, and lead a team of facility managers, engineers, and technicians.
• Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance team culture, ensuring staff are well-equipped to meet operational challenges.
• Design and implement operational processes and best practices for managing critical systems (HVAC, electrical, power, security) to ensure optimal performance across multiple facilities.
• Create scalable operational models to support business growth across Europe.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new data center builds, service expansions, and strategic partnerships.
• Foster relationships with potential clients and partners to grow the company’s customer base and European presence.
• Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities to guide expansion strategies.
• Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost control while maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
• Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships for competitive pricing and high-quality services.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years in facility management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing data center operations.
• Experience in business development is highly desirable.

This is a full-time position based in the UK or Ireland, with travel across Europe as required.

Compensation and Benefits:
