Structural Engineer PTLS (Pools, Tanks, Liners and Sumps)

Location: HPC, Bridgwater

Rate: £370 PAYE or £520 umbrella per day

Contract Type: Long-term Contract

HPC's ambition is to construct and operate up to 2 new nuclear plants (pairs of EPRs) in the UK, one of which is at Hinkley Point C (HPC), in Somerset. The Joint Design Office (JDO) has been created to reinforce the HPC site-based engineering to quickly respond to engineering queries and problems coming from the construction site, to deliver the schedule and to deliver an increased scope of work. A primary benefit of this organisation is to save time for construction on site by having reactive answers and solutions to pursue their activities.

Vacancy Overview

Reporting to the PTLS Discipline Lead within the Review & Acceptance Branch of the JDO, the post-holder will be a Structural Engineer, contributing to the review and acceptance of engineering queries raised by the Main Civil Contractor (Bylor) on the Embedded Steelwork (Pools, Tanks and Liners and Sumps) scope.

The role will interface with several parties, such as the Main Civil Contractor (composed of main suppliers and sub-suppliers), Construction teams, Technical Experts, Quality teams, Project Management teams, and Design teams (embedded within the JDO organisation on site, or in back office).

It is expected that the role holder will move into the Mechanical and Electrical teams as part of the project.
