Property Underwriting Manager Location: London (hybrid working available) Salary: Negotiable We're strengthening our team at Plum Underwriting (part of Brown & Brown (Europe) ) and looking for a Property Underwriting Manager to join the team as we continue to grow the business in 2025. The Property underwriting manager will be responsible for leadership of the Real Estate technical team, and supporting the Head of Property to achieve income targets whilst delivering underwriting profit for our carriers across all lines of the MGA property business. Duties will include: Being a referral point to operational underwriting teams across the property underwriting division Support budget, conversion and retention targets Provide leadership and people management for the Senior Technical Underwriter and Senior Development Underwriter within the Real Estate team Assist the Head of Property with underwriting projects and underwriting product development across the MGA Product DIvision Interrogate existing MI and pricing analysis to make recommendation to increase profitable business to the Underwriting Performance Director Support claims function with underwriting referrals Produce reporting for carriers and represent the MGA division at carrier meetings as required Support Trading Operations with continually improving underwriting trading processes. Identify areas of potential opportunity to increase profitable business from existing new business submissions. Perform other duties from time to time as determined by the Senior Management Team and/or Board Build professional and productive working relationships with all internal and external business relationships Meet regularly with Head of Property to discuss progress and professional development Meet regularly with colleagues from Underwriting, Claims, Accounts, Technical Services, Business Development, Product and Marketing and Business and Underwriting Support Team to discuss current issues What's on offer: A negotiable basic salary and all company benefits (Pension, option to join the company sharesave scheme, Private Medical Care, Holidays etc.) Hybrid working if desired Being part of a management team that is passionate about looking after their team and developing them Full funding for relevant professional qualifications and ongoing personal development Your experience: A strong Property Underwriting background, ideally with some management experience. ACII qualified or progressing towards would be preferable. A varied skill set that includes strong Communication (both written and verbal), sales, negotiation, analytical and IT skills.
