Job Description
A newly created opportunity has arisen for a part-time Income Officer to join a well established housing charity. This role plays a key part in managing rental and fundraised income, supporting both tenants and the wider finance function.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Accurately process rent journals and maintain tenant rent records
- Monitor rent accounts and highlight arrears via regular KPI reports
- Work with Housing to support tenants, including liaising with benefit agencies
- Manage annual rent and service charge increases and ensure accurate updates in the system
- Process and reconcile all tenant payments, including direct debits and bank transfers
- Set up and maintain rent accounts for new and existing residents
- Record all fundraised income and donations accurately in the accounting system
- Ensure Gift Aid claims are accurate and comply with HMRC requirements
- Reconcile all income and debtor control accounts monthly
- Provide weekly rent arrears reports and liaise with debt recovery services as needed
- Support with the annual audit and respond to finance-related queries
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls
Ideal candidate profile:
- Strong experience in rent accounting or income processing
- Good understanding of housing benefit and Universal Credit
- Confident using finance systems and reconciling complex data
- Experience working with fundraised income and Gift Aid (desirable)
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small team
Location: Fulham, London
Rate: £18.50 per hour
Working hours: Part time, 21 hours per week
Working pattern: On-site
Contract: 3 months temp to perm
