Our client is an International Global Freight Forwarder, specialising within the Far East and USA as their main areas. They form partnerships to freight manage their client's global business, allowing the client to concentrate on its own core business. Their management team is focused on achieving higher levels of service both internally and externally.
We are now recruiting for a Sea Freight Pricing Specialist to join the team in the Birmingham office. We are looking for a driven and proactive individual who excels in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Candidates should have sea freight experience and the ability to build strong relationships with customers, carriers, and suppliers to effectively negotiate and confirm rates.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:- Create and issue quotations to prospects & customers
- Follow up issued quotations
- Handling Sea freight/Imports/Exports/Cross Trade
- Negotiate rates with carriers/hauliers/suppliers
- Track success/failure rate of quotes, reporting back to management
- Hold regular service review meetings with key suppliers to minimise cost increases
- Monitor carrier websites and notifications
- Communicate with customers to manage and follow up all quotes to obtain feedback
