We are hiring! Do you want to work for a team who provides risk solutions to businesses across a large number of sectors within the UK? Does establishing contacts and developing client relationships at the highest level appeal to you? We are on the lookout for a dynamic and driven Business Development Executive to join our Advisory team. This role offers the unique flexibility of being based at any of our offices across the country. Plus, it is a hybrid position, giving you the freedom to work both virtually and from your local Aon office.

What the day will look like
- Follow up on pre-set visits and calls to new prospects as well as self-generate a pipeline of opportunities and appointments yourself.
- Handle your own pipeline with support and engagement from our Lead Generation team and Marketing colleagues.
- Work closely with colleagues across the group to create internal referrals.
- Be a visible referral point in our offices for the right size cases.
- Develop an understanding and appreciation of the prospect’s business.
- Understand the risk and present this to our Broking teams to allow the best terms to be secured for the business.
- Look to present back terms and close the win.
- Establish the potential needs and be able to articulate Aon’s risk management solutions for those needs in a professional way, utilising Aon’s sector knowledge, such that we become the logical alternative to the incumbent broker.
- Work with Project Management and Broking to ensure Aon delivers on our initial proposition.
- Liaise with the Claims community to establish our Claims proposition for each new client.
- Develop good working relationships with Aon specialists, specifically in Client Management and Client services, thereby selecting the most suitable team to be presented to the prospect.
- Compliance with Aon Commercial Business Rules and Statutory/FCA regulations.
- Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests, or reputation of any Group company.
What Makes This Role Different
Typically, clients will be either a Regional or National company. Engagement will be direct with the key decision maker namely the owner/MD or FD who will be looking for a local relationship with their broker, who can provide an Aon wide, tailored approach. You will need to develop a strong Aon internal network to understand and articulate the many innovative solutions available. Commercial clients typically require tailored insurance programmes and associated risk management and risk transfer services. Besides being the insurance broker, the team provides clients with a claims service and advice on risk management across most industries.
