Rockstar is on the lookout for a passionate and talented individual who can provide development support for our Technical Art team to support our titles.

This is a full-time, permanent, and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of London.

WHAT WE DO

We deliver mostly 3rd party software and infrastructure systems to all our Tech Art internal teams.

  1. Maintain our current systems, review and identify areas of improvements.
  2. Work daily with our production team to quickly resolve bugs and provide solutions/requested features/ideas from the other developing teams.
  3. Help other developing teams to migrate to our systems and use them in the most productive way.

We are a team mostly situated in NYC, and we work closely together with IT and other Tech Art teams to provide the fastest and best solutions for other TA developers to achieve their goals to the highest and latest standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain and support automation and scripting solutions to drive new capabilities, visibility, and efficiency on projects that are needed in production.
  2. Apply software engineering best practices across projects, utilizing modern best practices.
  3. Collaborate with other teams to gather information during troubleshooting.
  4. Provide expertise to configure and maintain DevOps tools, to maintain preventive rather than reactive workflow.
  5. Provide detailed documentation of setups we implement to facilitate the onboarding of new teams and maintenance of the systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the field of Gaming/VFX/IT or software development.
  2. Strong understanding of Windows and Linux systems and command line.
  3. Experience with distributed or containerized systems and microservices architecture.
  4. Experience with data management and processing.

SKILLS

  1. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team or individually as required.
  2. Excellent documentation skills with high attention to detail.
  3. Ability to handle high-pressure situations as well as prioritizing tasks.
  4. Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  5. Experience with Agile methodologies.
  6. Openness to learn and develop outside the current scope of knowledge.
  7. Ability to shift focus based on support needs.
  8. Passionate about DevOps methodology and “infrastructure as code”.
  9. Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server configuration (Win 11+/Ubuntu 20.04+ and Ansible).
  10. Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration (networking and Active Directory, certificates).
  11. Container administration and configuration (Docker and k8s administration).
  12. Understanding of metrics, monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding concepts (ELK, Grafana).
  13. Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins/Airflow/ArgoCD).
  14. Experience with databases (MongoDB, Postgres, Redis).
  15. Experience with version control systems (Git Hub, Perforce).
  16. Experience with message queue system Kafka.

PLUSES

  1. Deeper understanding of Kubernetes, as well as databases, HA systems, Kafka, etc.
  2. Extensive knowledge about tools such as: Sentry, Clickhouse, PowerShell, Hashicorp Vault, Memgraph.
  3. Experience with setting up system backups, tests, and disaster recovery.
  4. Experience managing highly sensitive data with an emphasis on security measures.
  5. Ability to test and examine code written by others and analyze results.
  6. Experience with service mesh (Cilium preferable).
