Purpose of the Role: At McLaren Racing we know our people are our greatest asset—and we’re looking for an Employer Brand Marketing Lead to attract, engage, and retain top talent. In this role, you’ll craft and execute innovative strategies that bring our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to life, ensuring a standout candidate and employee experience. From amplifying our reputation as an employer of choice to contributing to impactful communications, you’ll play a key role in fuelling our company’s growth and culture.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Employer Value Proposition (EVP) Development & Activation: Champion employer branding and the EVP, ensuring it authentically resonates with both prospective and current employees. Develop and execute creative strategies to bring the EVP to life across all candidate and employee touchpoints. Collaborate with People & Sustainability, Talent Acquisition, Communications and Brand Marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and activation. Leverage insights and data to refine the EVP and enhance its impact on talent attraction and retention.
- Internal Communications & Employee Engagement: Support the delivery of the internal communications strategy by developing strategic internal communication materials that inform, inspire, and engage employees. Ensure our internal marketing is clearly aligned to our brand identity and brand DNA. Craft engaging content for internal channels, including email newsletters, intranet, social platforms, town halls, and executive communications. Monitor and analyse effectiveness of content, making data-driven optimisations.
- Employer Brand Marketing & Content Strategy: Lead employer brand marketing efforts across social media, career websites, job boards, and industry events. Act as a brand guardian across employer marketing, reflecting our brand identity and brand DNA across all marketing and content. Create engaging, authentic content (written, visual, and video) that showcases the employee experience and attracts top talent. Manage and enhance our employer brand presence online, ensuring alignment with company values and EVP. Track, analyse, and report on employer brand marketing performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Innovation & Creative Storytelling: Develop fresh, innovative ideas to enhance the employee experience and strengthen our employer brand. Implement initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, celebrating our people and reinforcing our values. Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices in employer branding, internal communications, and employee engagement.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Partner with People & Sustainability, Communications, Talent Acquisition, and Brand Marketing teams to align employer brand initiatives with broader business objectives. Work closely with leadership to craft and deliver impactful employer brand and communication strategies. Manage external agencies, vendors, and partners as needed to enhance our employer brand presence.
Job requirements Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in employer branding, internal marketing, recruitment marketing, or a related marketing/communications role.
- Strong understanding of employer brand strategy, including EVP development and activation.
- Demonstrated experience in crafting engaging internal communication campaigns.
- Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to create compelling content briefs across various formats.
- Experience managing employer brand marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels.
- Proficiency in social media management for employer branding, including content creation and community engagement.
- Understanding of marketing channels and how to build effective campaign plans for employer marketing.
- A creative and strategic mindset with a strong grasp of brand positioning and audience engagement.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Data-driven approach to measuring the effectiveness of brand and engagement initiatives.
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and CRM platforms.
- Familiarity with employee engagement platforms and tools.
- Knowledge of SEO and social media best practices for employer branding.
- Experience of content production, including capturing and editing content.
- Experience of copy writing.
- Understanding of the UK employment market and recruitment landscape.
