Deputy Head of Compliance

A financial services firm is hiring a Deputy Head of Compliance to support the leadership of its UK compliance function. This is a senior, hands‑on role with broad regulatory exposure, suited to an experienced compliance professional who can provide strategic oversight while remaining close to day‑to‑day regulatory delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Compliance in managing the firm’s compliance framework, policies, and governance arrangements.
- Act as a senior point of contact for regulatory advice across products, distribution, and client‑facing activities.
- Oversee delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Plan, including thematic reviews, issue management, and regulatory change.
- Contribute to regulatory engagement, including FCA interactions, supervisory reviews, and regulatory submissions.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance across the compliance team.
- Produce senior management and board‑level reporting, including risk assessments and MI.
Key Requirements
- Degree‑level education; legal, compliance, or professional qualifications preferred.
- Significant experience in a senior compliance role within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks including SYSC, PRIN, SMCR, Consumer Duty, COBS, and DISP.
- Proven ability to balance commercial objectives with regulatory risk management.
- Confident communicator with the credibility to challenge senior stakeholders.
- Organised, resilient, and capable of operating autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
