The Automated Trading Strategies (ATS) group is looking for an Analyst/Associate to join our team. ATS is a cross-asset front-office team working on the JP Morgan trading floor here in London. You will join one of the biggest electronic trading franchises, with a primary focus on the algorithmic order execution across macro.
As an Analyst or Associate within Currencies and Emerging Markets - Automated Trading Strategies, you will work in a dynamic and rewarding environment to identify and design algorithmic trading solutions for clients' needs, drive revenue and expand the business. You will cover a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Designing trading and execution strategies
- Researching micro-patterns and trends
- Building applications and tools
- Supporting day-to-day operations
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement algorithmic orders to execute on behalf of clients
- Formulate, analyse and back-test strategies, models, and signals
- Collaborate with technology to develop cutting-edge low-latency infrastructure that meets business needs in a scalable manner
- Perform statistical analysis of algorithmic order execution to drive iterative improvements
- Develop real-time and post-trade transaction cost analysis models and reports to help clients optimize their algorithmic execution
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent/quantitative field
- Strong design and programming skills in C++/Java or other object-oriented languages
- Oriented towards careful system and solution design and implementation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for frequent interaction and partnership with different teams, including Clients, Voice Trading, Sales, Product, Research and Technology
- Highly motivated, attention to detail, adaptable, and eager to learn
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Good knowledge of statistics and/or machine learning, programming skills in Python
- Interest in market microstructures and quantitative systematic trading across asset classes
- Strategic and creative thinking when faced with problems and opportunities, eager to explore new ways of doing things
- Experience in FX, Commodities, and Rates markets and general trading concepts and terminology is useful but not essential.
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
