Having the right people using the right methodology and following the right process gives every client the right result.The Platform Engineering capability within Digital is a growing team of people dedicated to ensuring that the technologies selected and the way that they are implemented meet the business objectives of our clients.  There are several disciplines within the Digital Customer Experience team: delivery, business, integration and digital architects and technical managers, and many of our people can perform in more than one of these roles.Your role Actively working with our clients on digital IaaS, PaaS, SaaS solution strategies, designs, and delivery programmes, transforming their business by delivering solutions and methodologies following best practice.Implementation and maintenance of platforms and services based on the business requirements, constraints and strategies.In time you will be able to create, maintain and enhance standards for delivery for business functionality, as well as developing, maintaining, and enhancing design standards and patterns for infrastructure and system components.Applying technical innovation with contribution towards internal projects and client bids in order to win new business.Contribute towards the business units’ strategy directly through your own personal growth, alongside coaching and mentoring of our junior talent.Your skills and experienceWorking in an Agile or DevOps teamsUsing agile project management tools such as Jira and Azure DevOpsPublic cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.Continuous Integration systems such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, CircleCI or Github ActionsScripting languages, such as Bash and PowerShellConfiguration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltInfrastructure-as-code technologies, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, PulumiBuilding secure applications and infrastructureStrong communication skills, with the ability to convey and or understand complex technical concepts clearly and conciselySRE skills including observability and telemetry monitoringHashiCorp Suite (Packer, Terraform, Vault, Vagrant, Consul)Containerisation using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift & HelmProgramming skills using languages such as Python, Go, Java, C# and Typescript.Your security clearanceTo be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
