The IIDR (IBM Infosphere Data Replication) Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for IIDR solutions. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to data replication processes. The specialist will collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth operation of replication systems and optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide first-level and second-level support for IIDR related issues. Diagnose and troubleshoot replication issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Resolve technical problems by liaising with internal teams and external vendors as necessary. Document and track issues, resolutions, and updates.
- System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor replication systems to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently. Perform regular maintenance tasks, including updates and patches. Proactively identify potential issues and implement preventative measures.
- Configuration and Deployment: Assist in the configuration and deployment of IIDR solutions. Work with the implementation team to ensure successful integration with existing systems. Customize and optimize IIDR configurations to meet specific business needs.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with database administrators, developers, and other IT professionals to resolve complex issues. Provide clear and concise communication regarding the status of support tickets and ongoing issues. Prepare and deliver regular reports on system performance and support activities.
- Training and Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IIDR systems and support procedures. Conduct training sessions for users and other support staff on IIDR functionalities and best practices.
Experience: Experience in IT support or a related role. Hands-on experience with IBM Infosphere Data replication or similar data replication tools is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in database management and SQL. Knowledge of IBM DB2 database architecture and components. Strong knowledge of data replication concepts and best practices. Familiarity with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems. Ability to write shell scripts.
