The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is a charity that provides, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service. Our lifeboat crews and lifeguards need a dedicated, professional, and talented team behind them. The All-weather Lifeboat Centre is the RNLI's in-house boat building facility located in Poole, which brings every stage of the lifeboat build, repair, and refit under one roof.

About the role
As Senior Production Support Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and prioritising tasks for the Production Support Team. A key part of the position involves creating detailed work instructions for both new build and current operational fleet, ensuring that the engineering design intent is met through safe and efficient production, whilst remaining compliant with the latest H&S regulations. You will ensure that design information and drawings are properly controlled and readily available to production. Additionally, you will oversee the allocation of resources, tools, and parts to deliver tasks in line with the production plan. As a Senior Production Support Engineer, you will actively apply Continuous Improvement tools and techniques to enhance production processes. Furthermore, you will support Production Control by facilitating the seamless implementation of projects into our Microsoft Dynamics AX and SolidWorks Manage systems. You will also support with the risk assessment of tasks and distribution of any associated COSHH or other safety critical information.
About you
You will ideally have an HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline or extensive practical experience within the boat building sector. Experience in small boat production, refit and/or repair environment, including knowledge of composite construction methods, mechanical and electrical systems, marine coatings, and repair processes. You will be confident in your communication and organisational skills and with existing technical knowledge of production processes, be driven and decisive.
