About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and commercially-minded Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of our operations in remediation, groundworks, piling, and environmental consultancy. This is a key position within the pre-construction team, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of a fast-growing specialist contractor.
You\’ll lead on identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and coordinating high-quality tender submissions. The ideal candidate will combine technical insight with commercial flair—and be confident representing the business at a senior level.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and executing strategies to grow the client base across key environmental and infrastructure sectors
- Identifying and responding to new project opportunities, both from existing relationships and through active networking and market research
- Building strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and partners to drive repeat business
- Acting as the bridge between commercial, technical, and operations teams to deliver tailored, well-coordinated tender submissions
- Representing the company at industry events and conferences
- Promoting the business through relevant media and digital channels (e.g., LinkedIn)
- Tracking market trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience in remediation, groundworks, piling, or environmental consultancy
- Strong understanding of the pre-construction and tendering process
- Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Comfortable working independently, as well as within multi-disciplinary teams
- Proactive mindset with a results-driven approach to business growth
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide
Desirable:
- Background in environmental science, civil engineering, or geotechnical disciplines
- Previous experience in a technical or contracting role within the environmental sector
- Familiarity with digital marketing or professional social media engagement
