Citi Wealth Lending provides competitive borrowing solutions that are strategically integrated into our client's broader Wealth Management goals. Our Lending Advisors partner with Citi Private Bankers and Wealth at Work Bankers to advise clients on new loan and refinancing opportunities along with restructuring existing loans as part of clients overall capital management. We have Lending representation across 8 countries to provide seamless coverage to our Global clients.
Lending Advisors provide advice across a variety of asset classes ranging from complex marketable securities loans and less liquid financial assets, commercial real estate to more bespoke personal assets such as aviation, fine art and collectibles. The EMEA Lending Advisory team currently has members located in London, Geneva and Luxembourg.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the EMEA Lending Advisor Team in establishing and executing the expansion strategy across the region to deliver creative solutions to clients as part of the Global Lending Strategy.
- Curate a high performing team culture through coaching, mentoring and hiring team members.
- Cross jurisdictional collaboration with colleagues across the US and Asia to ensure a seamless global delivery of solutions.
- Establish a reputation of execution and excellence externally with clients and internally with partners.
- Create a strong partnership with the Citi Private Bank ("CPB") Market Executives and Banker teams to proactively identify lending opportunities with their clients and prospects through account planning and engagement.
- Join client and prospect meetings with Bankers to raise awareness of the solutions that are available.
- Advise clients and advisors on lending solutions and drive a culture of excellence in execution in the region.
- Understand and articulate the market specific products, competitive environment, platform gaps, challenges, and opportunities.
- Act as the initial subject matter expert and first line of control for internal and client inquiries on lending products.
- Partner with in-business Underwriting team and 2nd line risk to screen requests and structure bespoke loan proposals that meet the client need while managing overall Firm targets.
- Provide regional governance and oversight for the Regional Lending business and chair relevant regional lending governance forums that bring together all stakeholders in the region to ensure the lending business is conducted in line with policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of lending opportunities to grow the EMEA portfolio as part of the wider Citi Wealth lending growth aspirations, ensuring effective and consistent compliance to control standards.
- Member of the Wealth Lending Leadership team and Wealth EMEA CPB Region Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of UHNW lending experience in client facing and risk related roles in a global firm.
- Experience leading a high performing lending team and a desire to drive growth.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, investments, banking and loan products.
- Ability to advise clients on optimal loan structure and think creatively in delivering market leading solutions.
- Experience with assessing and structuring loans secured by a variety of asset classes including complex marketable securities loans and less liquid financial assets, commercial real estate to more bespoke personal assets such as aviation, fine art and collectibles.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Detail orientation with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines to drive execution for clients.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong initiative and interactive approach to problem solving.
- Displays flexibility and independence in a demanding environment.
- Completion of formal credit training program preferred.
- Bachelor's degree / University degree required (or equivalent experience).
