MERITUS are working with an expanding Systems Integration Consultancy in Staffordshire looking to expand their engineering team due to a number of new project wins. They are looking for experienced Electrical Technicians to join their production/wiring team.

If successful, you will join an experienced team of skilled professionals working on the assembly, wiring, and installation of protection and control systems in highly regulated environments including Energy/Power Generation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and wire protection and control systems, including cable installations, terminations, and glanding of paired, multicore, copper, and fibre optic cables.
  • Conduct safety and functionality checks, including earth bond continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, and high-voltage withstand tests.
  • Install cubicles, frameworks, cable trays, and other mechanical components to project specifications.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform on-site installations, resolve technical issues, and ensure project milestones are achieved.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in E, C & I installations, particularly in substation control systems or protection systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, assembly prints, wiring schedules, and parts lists.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and work on-site in challenging environments.
  • A full UK Driving License is required, with additional certifications (e.g., 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, National Grid Person) being advantageous.
