As Industry Key Account Director, you will have the outstanding opportunity to drive the growth and success of our company in the clinical and scientific solutions industry. As a key player in the Segments’ largest consortium/customers, you will develop and own the business development plan, positioning our company as a world-class provider.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Improve regional opportunities by developing and leading development strategies that position us as the top choice for our customers.
- Lead new business opportunities from proposal through negotiation to contract agreements.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of potential customers to determine their needs and requirements.
- Responsible for overall account relationship by establishing and nurturing strong connections with middle and senior management contacts in procurement, operational, and scientific areas.
- Determine the competitive landscape and strategise account development accordingly to ensure we stay ahead.
- Collaborate effectively with teams across different functions, divisions, and countries to tap into our company's capabilities and expertise and ensure tactical execution of account sales plan.
- Present internal proforma to important individuals and lead the RFP/tender process where applicable.
- Build customised messaging, value propositions, and collateral for target customers.
- Evaluate customer performance for contract compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Achieve or exceed sales and margin/profit targets for the assigned accounts by improving share of wallet and portfolio development.
- Contribute to the business forecasting and planning process.
Keys to Success:
- Degree-level education & MBA, preferably in a relevant science or business field.
- Proven experience in academia, industrial, pharma and biotech sectors, with a focus on strategic opportunity development, financial analysis, and negotiation.
- Strong project management skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Adept in using computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
- Exceptional ability to identify and address unmet needs and tailor value propositions to meet customer requirements.
- Strong communication skills with a confident executive presence.
- Outgoing, confident, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and professional.
- Ability to effectively communicate and build understanding across diverse groups.
- Able to work independently with minimal direction and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time across Europe to engage with customers and establish positive relationships.
