Perplexity is seeking an experienced Search Engineer to shape the future of the search infrastructure that powers our products. If you're keen on pushing boundaries and making a significant impact, this role is for you.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and building large-scale infrastructure to power crawling, ranking, and retrieval systems.
- Scaling and optimizing search engine for maximum efficiency.
- Enhancing serving infrastructure to reduce costs and latency while maintaining 99.9% uptime.
- Training and evaluating ranking models, including LLMs.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record working with large-scale search and retrieval systems.
- Self-starter with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
- Minimum of 5 years of working on search-related projects.
- Deep understanding of the search and retrieval systems.
Our cash compensation range for this role is $160,000 - $250,000. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above. Equity: In addition to the base salary, equity is part of the total compensation package.
