We are currently seeking motivated and dependable 7.5t Drivers to join our team on a temporary or temporary-to-permanent basis. This role is with a well-established food company, offering full training, uniform, and PPE. Work hours are 2AM to 10AM, Monday to Friday one week, Sunday to Friday next week.
As a 7.5t Driver, you'll play a key role in the delivery process, completing one scheduled drop every day and a few collections once or twice per week. Your deliveries will ensure the timely and efficient transportation of food products to clients. This role requires adaptability, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service, with shifts running Monday to Friday to provide a stable work routine.
Key Responsibilities:- Safely operate a 7.5t vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Complete one scheduled delivery and a few collections once or twice per week, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Load and unload food products, ensuring all items are handled with care and stored correctly to maintain quality.
- Check delivery documents to ensure accuracy and completeness before and after each trip.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle, particularly when transporting food products.
- Communicate effectively with clients during deliveries and collections to provide excellent service.
- Follow all company guidelines for handling and transporting food products safely.
- Collaborate with the operations team to address any delivery or collection issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and vehicle logs.
- Valid Driving License: Must hold a valid C1, C or CE license with a clean driving record (no DR or IN endorsements).
- CPC Qualification: Possess a valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Digital Tachograph Card: Required for tracking driving hours and compliance.
- Experience: Must hold the HGV category for at least 3 years.
- Knowledge of Food Safety Standards: Understanding of regulations related to the safe handling and transport of food products.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to load and unload deliveries, including lifting and handling items.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to plan routes effectively and manage time efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Professional and courteous communication with clients and team members.
