Quantinuum is seeking a Technical Account Executive to join our Japan Sales Team. In this role, you will drive technical engagement with prospective partners and clients, while helping shape and deliver quantum computing solutions tailored to strategic needs. You will work closely with academic, public sector, and industrial stakeholders, particularly in fields such as quantum chemistry, high-performance computing (HPC), and AI, depending on your strengths and strategic business direction. This position plays a key role in bridging scientific and commercial goals, supporting the deployment and adoption of Quantinuum’s next-generation quantum hardware platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales efforts by identifying and engaging prospective customers in key technical domains such as chemistry, high-performance computing (HPC), or AI, based on evolving business priorities.
  • Qualify leads from both inbound and outbound channels and convert them into active sales opportunities.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline to support hardware sales (HaaS), from early engagement through to successful closure.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, marketing, and technical teams to develop tailored proposals, pitch materials, and proof-of-concept opportunities.
  • Conduct customer meetings, product briefings, and solution presentations suited to both scientific and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Support relationship development and long-term engagement with strategic academic, governmental, and industry partners.
  • Represent Quantinuum at industry events, conferences, and workshops to promote quantum computing adoption and generate new opportunities.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure seamless communication between customers and internal stakeholders (e.g., product, ecosystem, legal, or research teams), adjusting to the technical and strategic needs of each engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Master or higher in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in scientific business development, technical account management, or quantum-related R&D.
  • Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Comfort interacting with academic and public sector stakeholders.

We Value:

  • High-Performance Computing (HPC): Sales or pre-sales experience in HPC, supercomputing, or data center solutions; understanding of procurement processes at academic or public research institutions in Japan.
  • Quantum Chemistry: Experience with quantum chemistry tools, and a background in computational chemistry or material simulations.
  • Artificial Intelligence / Quantum Machine Learning: Knowledge of AI/ML applications in scientific or industrial contexts; exposure to quantum machine learning concepts and the ability to articulate such topics in client-facing settings.
