Our services have been appointed to recruit a Locum Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon by one of the most high performing and driven hospitals in the UK. The Hospital is based in London and they are looking to recruit on a NHS Fixed Term basis.
The post holder will be skilled and confident in order to cover the whole range of specialty at consultant level including on-call on a 1:8 basis together with a dually qualified SpR grade and a junior colleague with a dental or a medical degree. They will be required to play an active role in the provision and delivery of healthcare for patients who need surgery for craniofacial trauma, head & neck skin cancers, dento-alveolar surgery and orthognathic surgery.
To be eligible for this post you must have the following:
- FRCS (OMFS)
- MRCS
- Eligible for or holding full registration with the United Kingdom General Medical Council (GMC)
- On the GMC Specialist Register in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery or within 6 months of eligibility for inclusion
- Successful completion of an SAC approved 5-year minimum training programme in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, or within 6 months of completion, or an equivalent completion of training which is recognised by the GMC
- Possession of a Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CCT in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
- Subspecialty interest and training in facial deformity and trauma
- Experience in day to day organisation of OMFS services in a busy Teaching Hospital
