Your new company Hays are working in partnership with an ambitious engineering and environmental consultancy company, seeking to employ a Senior Structural Engineer to assist with their ongoing client is based in Ireland, but reach extends globally in the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Their focus is on sustainability for today’s global community in water engineering, environmental engineering and civil and structural engineering services to public- and private-sector clients, mainly in the transportation and infrastructure sectors. Your new role As a Senior Structural Engineer, you are required to lead and manage structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project requirements, and client requirements. Key responsibilities of a Senior Structural Engineer: To conduct structural analyses and calculations to design safe and efficient structures. Oversee the preparation of detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports, Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver projects within established timelines and budgets. Responsible to providing technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and team members and actively engaging in site inspections, assessments, and structural surveys. Participate in project meetings and liaise with stakeholders. What you’ll need to succeed: To be successful for this role, our client is looking for candidates with: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus. Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartered status. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering. Proficient in structural design software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Robot, Masterseries Retaining Wall Suite, etc.). Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, British Standards). Excellent project management and leadership skills.
