We are located in Runcorn and print for many high street brands, government business and charities. The team on your printer is small, but the onsite team is big enough to wrap their arms around you as you learn the ways of working. You will instantly feel at home and start to see quickly how interactive everyone is. The management team are friendly and nurturing, and their grassroots experience will give you confidence that they will understand the role you do to support where necessary.
As a print finisher, you will be working independently as part of a 2-3 person shift rotation role on a print finishing machine which produces letters, bills, leaflets, booklets, statements and various other A4 prints for several companies. You will be familiar with different types of printing machines, understand naming conventions, and be able to work at a fast and efficient pace as orders are processed, pulled out and finished off on a workbench at the end. Working as a print finisher, you will understand the complexities of the role and how your attention to detail is critical.
You will hold at least 12 months print finishing experience and can easily get to Runcorn. You will be good to deliver 2 shift patterns: 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm. You will work within a quality-focused, high volume and demanding continuous production environment. You will commence operating various print finishing lines including specialist Hunkeler book making machinery, sheeting machinery, guillotine and other paper finishing lines and pallet moving equipment. You will be required, after training/instruction, to perform other operating duties within the dispatch and enclosing department, supporting the recycling area and the unloading and loading of collections and deliveries as required. Additionally, you will support the Insertion area with tasks including pallet wrapping and stock movement when requested.
What your time on shift will consist of:
- Operates production equipment in a fast-paced environment
- All work undertaken is accurate and completed within specific time scales
- Process regular quality checks
- Makes minor adjustments to machines where necessary to meet specifications
- Understand lean manufacturing tools
- Active engagement in all 5s activities
- Follow the scheduled to-do list daily and work at pace and accuracy every time
