CORE DUTIES

  • Managing the UK office with the Senior Director (head of overseas business management - based in the US)
  • Managing a young & dynamic team of 12 sales executives & 3 assistant managers (as of Jan 2024), liaising with board members in Japan HQ as well as the Senior Director
  • Responsible for the day-to-day business operations such as product development and distribution
  • Expand business opportunities across the EU, including business development and existing client relationship management
  • Strategic planning to ensure continued growth in major global markets
  • Opening new accounts, while maintaining relationships with buyers of major retail chains
  • Proposing, negotiating terms and conditions, and acquiring product licenses from publishers and other clients
  • Working closely with publishers & media to maximise marketing opportunities across the respective regions
  • Liaising with in-house design & engineering teams based in the overseas head office for product development
  • Reporting and presentation of outcomes to the executive team in Japan and other global branch managers

IDEAL APPLICANT

  • At least 7 years business experience within corporate environment is essential
  • Totally fluent level English and business negotiation level Japanese (at least JLPT N2 level or higher)
  • Additional European language skill (German/French/Spanish) would be highly beneficial
  • Manufacturing or FMCG industry experience
  • Experience living/working in Japan would be highly beneficial
  • Strong sales or client management experience is a must
  • Experience of managing a team
  • A personal interest in the Digital/Game/Entertainment industry
  • Working understanding of Japanese work environment and culture
  • Strong communication skills, flexible attitude, and the ability to influence people
