Isometrix is an award-winning international lighting design consultancy working on challenging, cutting-edge projects worldwide with an impressive portfolio that includes a wide and varied range of projects (Lifestyle, Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Retail, Residential, Exterior, Gallery, Exhibition and one-off Events). We are seeking a Controls Engineer (Lighting Focused) to join our London studio. The role is key to our ability to deliver integrated innovative lighting solutions and will have you designing, specifying and commissioning Lighting Control Systems, producing wiring schematics, plans & control panel elevations and block diagrams as well as taking a hands-on approach when it comes to troubleshooting technical issues, testing DMX Lighting and assembly of control panels.

Working closely with our other departments (Lighting Design, Product Design, Procurement) as well as an array of brands (including Lutron, Rako, Pharos, Hippotizer, etc), the ideal candidate will have strong system design and implementation skills with proven experience (2+ years), solid grasp of control and communication protocols such as DALI, DMX and ArtNet, good project management abilities, as well as a strong commercial sense and ability to communicate with stakeholders of all levels and technical understanding taking a project from concept to completion.

Your previous exposure to working within highly integrated digital environments of AV and Lighting Control systems and your astute attention to detail will prove invaluable when preparing Multimedia and Lighting Control System designs inclusive of video, and control in support of a broad base of project opportunities.

Internal focus:

  • Contribute to expanding Lighting and AV Technology integrated solutions on High-end worldwide projects
  • Supporting our established Controls Team as we take on more interesting and unique projects
  • Impart your knowledge to other team members and provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise.

Your attention to detail should be sharp and be able to cross reference multiple drawings, schedules and specifications to identify inconsistencies, errors and possible stumbling blocks over the course of a project.

External focus:

  • Consult with lighting designers, electrical contractors, and design, install and commission functional Lighting Control systems
  • Perform site surveys to develop client requirements and documentation of new or existing systems
  • Oversee and assist with on-site installation
  • Take ownership of your projects and see them through from inception to completion

Must Have:

  • Technical aptitude and experience with Control System Programming and integration
  • AV system design experience, including equipment specifications, structured cabling infrastructure.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity, professionalism, and sensitivity with co-workers and clients
  • Great product knowledge in order to specify appropriate equipment
  • Available for international travel and to work on site
  • Ability to work well alone and as a member of the team
  • Certifications in any Lighting Control Systems or Home Automation Systems.
  • Networking certifications
  • Ability to use CAD and read drawings / schematics
  • Electrical knowledge
  • Experience or exposure to dynamic or architectural lighting
  • Knowledge of media servers and live entertainment console programming & operation
