An award winning independent Accountancy practice are seeking an Audit/ Accounts Senior. This is a great opportunity for a part qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) seeking to work in a flexible and professional environment. Full study support options would be available to complete your professional exams and become qualified.
Good working location, coupled with parking. You need to possess a full UK drivers license and have access to your own vehicle. Excellent holiday entitlement of 30 days plus bank holidays, flexi working, hybrid working, paid overtime or time in lieu. On a daily basis the Audit/Accounts Senior will be undertaking audit fieldwork, statutory reporting and completion, along with general accounting compliance work. Preparing financial statements, ensuring they are compliant with relevant accounting standards, whilst on occasion training others. This is a mixed role with approx 60% accounts and 40% audit split. Audits are completed locally and no overnight stays required.
Audit/Accounts Senior duties and responsibilities:- Delivery of high quality audit and non-audit services, coordinating team members in delivery of same.
- Identify key audit risks based on the background knowledge, thorough research and preliminary results and discussions with the client.
- Review audit work of junior members of the team during fieldwork.
- Lead fieldwork teams on larger or higher risk audit clients.
- Accounts preparation to final sign off using cloud based accountancy software.
- Being the first point of contact for the client whilst on-site and ensure any remaining queries are dealt with promptly.
- Discuss/agree any potential audit journals with the client during fieldwork.
- Responsible for clearing review points and addressing any follow up queries with clients.
- Working knowledge of UK GAAP (including FRS 102).
- Managing administration of client, including budgets, WIP and timely billing.
- Maintaining the highest technical and professional standards.
- Thinking strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks.
- Providing additional help and guidance to clients on a consultancy basis.
- Delivering results and managing client expectations.

The Audit/ Accounts Senior needs to demonstrate a working knowledge of automated accountancy packages, including; Sage, Xero and CCH products. You will liaise with clients; exceptional communication skills are essential, with advanced IT skills and excellent project management abilities.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday, hybrid working and flexible working available.
