The Association of Optometrists is the leading representative membership organisation for optometrists in the UK, supporting nearly 80% of practising optometrists to fulfil their professional roles to protect the nation’s eye health.
They're looking to strengthen their Finance Sub-Committee with an expert who is able to add value by contributing key experience and knowledge of Digital and IT strategies to help shape future IT strategic direction.
This Committee role has particular importance as it ensures that the AOP has professional input into its decisions and governance of the IT and Digital strategy.
You will contribute to the Finance Committee’s work overseeing the effectiveness of the AOP’s business operations and offering specialist advice to the executive, particularly in the area of digital transformation and data management. You will support the overall governance of the organisation, helping to promote high standards of professionalism and integrity in the pursuit of its objectives.
To be considered for this important role you will need a strong track record of working at a senior level preferably in an insurance related organisation or a relevant membership body; you will need experience of working and/or interfacing at Board level to drive strategy; and you will need well-honed strategic and analytical skills along with board level experience in an IT/Digital focussed role.
This role will suit candidates with a portfolio career or someone who would like to develop their knowledge and experience in another organisation.
AOP has 3 Finance Sub-Committee meetings a year, but it is anticipated that the role will require circa 6 days per year.
