Travelport is the brains behind lots of your travel bookings - plane, car or hotel. Our technology is used to book that magical holiday, infamous bachelorette party or long overdue school reunion. While we can’t solve mosquito bites or lost luggage, we can simplify a lot of the technical parts of travel, and we’re looking for the best thinkers to help us do it.

This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in a dynamic international business, testing your tax technical, organizational and leadership skills. You will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to make your mark in driving continuous improvement. You will be leading a high performing team in delivering a seamless tax compliance and reporting process across all of the countries in which Travelport operates.

This is a wide and varied role that offers excellent opportunities for development. In particular, you will be required to:

  • Own the direct tax compliance process (excluding US) to ensure Travelport meets all related filing and payment obligations, with support from the external outsource provider.
  • Own the quarterly and annual US GAAP reporting process under ASC740.
  • Manage international compliance requirements including CbyC Reporting and Pillar 2.
  • Manage tax authority audits and other tax risks across various jurisdictions, including potential strategies to mitigate such risks.
  • Lead and mentor the tax compliance team, maintaining a culture of high performance and ongoing development.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders, including other teams within Travelport, external advisors and tax authorities.

You’ll have significant experience of international tax compliance and reporting, gained either in-house or in practice and are looking to step into a role that offers a varied challenge and autonomy to lead an excellent team. You will need:

  • A relevant tax and/or accounting qualification.
  • Detailed knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting under ASC740 (experience of using TRCS a bonus).
  • Strong UK tax knowledge, with an understanding of tax regimes in other countries.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a desire to ‘make things happen’.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with experience of leading teams.

Our benefits package includes: We offer a package that includes 25 days annual leave per annum, plus Christmas working days (office shutdown), hybrid working model, pension contribution, private medical, life assurance and personal travel insurance. We believe all employees contribute to the success of the company and should be able to share in that success, which is why all jobs are eligible to participate in our bonus program with any payouts being subject to individual and company performance.
