Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents and contracts to support business activities.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and other formal engagements.
• Provide timely, accurate, and commercially focused legal advice to support business decision-making.
• Conduct analysis on trade regulations to ensure business compliance and strategic alignment.
• Oversee day-to-day compliance activities, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations; identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate legal matters involving law firms.
• Advise senior leadership on legal risks and implications related to policy and strategic decisions.
• Conduct due diligence and compliance risk assessments of high-risk counterparties and third parties.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Deliver legal and compliance training programs to company employees to promote awareness and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor\’s degree in the major of legal profession or equivalent
• Qualified solicitor in the UK or an equivalent jurisdiction.
• At least 5 years of experience in supporting an Oil or Gas Trading arm
• Strong track record in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
• In-depth understanding of compliance management and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, strong logical thinking, and highly organized approach to work.
