An opportunity for an experienced Press Brake operator to join an exciting manufacturing organisation. Utilising some of the latest press brake technology, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pressbrake Operator to join our profiling team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining Bystronic and Trumpf press brake machines (up to 800t) to form metal components according to precise specifications. The operator will be responsible for ensuring high-quality production, performing quality checks, and maintaining the equipment in excellent working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Bystronic press brake machines for the fabrication of metal components. Interpret technical drawings and job instructions to determine product specifications. Program and adjust press brake machine settings (e.g., bend angles, material thickness, back gauge settings).
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks using angle finders, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to ensure compliance with product specifications. Identify and resolve bending issues to minimise production downtime. Monitor and maintain accuracy during production to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine pre-use maintenance and cleaning of the press brake machine and associated tools. Adhere to all safety guidelines and company values, maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
  • Documentation: Record production data, including quantities, dimensions, and materials used. Maintain accurate records of machine maintenance and inspections.

Essential skills and experience for this role are as follows:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a Bystronic/Trumpf or similar press brake machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Disposition (Required critical behaviours): Flexible can-do attitude. Able to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines. Able to work as part of a team. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and focus on quality at all times. Self-motivated and confident when taking responsibility for all areas of work. Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required to support business needs. Drive for improvement.

This will be a day shift role Monday to Friday with occasional opportunities to work night shifts at higher rates of pay. Additional benefits offered include:
