Studio B are looking for a spectacular VFX Artist to join our team full-time in London! We are a cutting-edge, digital-first production company creating compelling content that resonates with today’s audiences and garners 1 Billion views per month. We’re all about staying ahead of trends, breaking creative boundaries, and speaking the language of Gen Z. Who you are: As a VFX Artist at StudioB, you will play a key role in creating visual effects within our growing team of talented artists. While you’ll often collaborate with colleagues, you’ll also be expected to take ownership of projects, seeing them through from start to finish. You'll primarily focus on Compositing, but we highly value any additional Generalist skills you bring to the table. We operate in a fast-paced industry where some projects have just a week in post-production, so you’ll need to be versatile and resourceful, effectively managing the entire pipeline. But don’t worry—you'll be surrounded by experienced artists who will support and guide you every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Artistic and technical skills: to work on all aspects of CG shots such as Modelling, Shading, Texturing, Lighting and Rendering.
- Creating: models, textures and photo-realistic digital matte paintings.
- Lighting and scene assembly: across shots or assets as required, and at times including characters and animation.
- Refining: 3D renders with 2D compositing techniques.
- Collaborate: with the VFX and CG Supervisor to develop the look and feel of the shot.
- Communicate: with production on a regular basis and provide aesthetic feedback when required.
- Produce: top-tier VFX that seamlessly match the project's visual aesthetic.
- Work within: established benchmarks and raise the standards for VFX.
- Develop and sustain: efficient VFX pipelines.
Skills and Experience:
- High-level knowledge across multiple CG techniques including but not limited to: Tracking, Modelling, Texturing and Shading, FX simulation, Lighting, Matte Painting, Rendering and Compositing.
- Proven VFX pipeline experience having worked on advertisement and feature film.
- Be comfortable with both the creative and technical aspects of CG work.
- Production-based experience in Houdini and at least one of the following: Karma, Redshift, VRay.
- Knowledge and experience of USD render, 3ds Max and Blender are also welcome.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Traditional arts background.
- Programming or scripting skills (e.g. vex, mel, python) a bonus.
