Are you passionate about supporting individuals to secure stable, high-quality housing? My client is seeking a proactive and dedicated Tenancy Management and Resettlement Officer to join their Housing Needs Service.

In this role, you will work closely with private sector landlords and tenants, ensuring that households in need are placed in suitable, safe, and affordable private rented accommodation. You will be the key point of contact, providing expert advice on tenancy sustainment and resettlement, while playing a crucial role in preventing homelessness and reducing the council's reliance on temporary housing.

The Role

  • Increase the supply of quality private rented accommodation by engaging with landlords and ensuring properties meet health and safety standards.
  • Carry out property inspections and assess the suitability of homes for clients.
  • Provide comprehensive tenancy sign-up services, ensuring tenants are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
  • Act as a mediator between landlords and tenants to resolve disputes and ensure tenancy sustainability.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing policies, welfare reforms, and legal frameworks related to private renting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused housing service.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong knowledge of the private rented sector, including relevant legislation and tenancy management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with landlords and tenants.
