Permitting Officer Location: North London Office, Garman Road, N17 Work Pattern: Full time, Garman Road Salary: Depending on experience Marlborough Highways have a fantastic opportunity for a permitting officer to join a growing business within a busy department at our North London Office. As a key player in our team, you’ll be the connection between our operational teams and local authorities, ensuring that our projects are not only exciting but also compliant and well-coordinated. What You\’ll be doing: Get ready for an action-packed role where you’ll be responsible for: * Raise permit applications based on work descriptions for submission to the Highways Authority. * Opening, coordinating and closing of works notices * Ensure works are on track, and request extensions if needed. * Liaise with Project Managers and Supervisors to manage road space bookings efficiently. * Input and update permitting information using Excel and Teams * Build and nurture relationships with Local Authorities and other stakeholders. * Co-ordinate with 3rd parties regarding; bus stop suspensions, parking suspensions, TTO’s etc * Monitor inspections of reinstatement and tackle any challenges with FPN and inspection data. * Prepare monthly KPI data * Supervising the permitting team when the Permitting Manager is out of the office. * Assist the Permitting Manager with assessing major TM drawings and submission of major work permits. What We’re Looking For: If you have a passion for the highways industry and meet the following criteria, we want to hear from you: * Experience: Proven track record in the highways industry. * Legislative Know-How: Solid understanding of the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and the London Permit Scheme. * Admin Skills: Strong organisational and administration skills * Tech Savvy: Knowledge of street works management systems and experience with Street Manager/ Insight/Symology/Confirm is a plus!
