Role Description
The Resolute Group, on behalf of our client – a growing infrastructure sector subcontractor – is recruiting an Operations Support Manager to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team. As the business continues to grow, we are seeking a dynamic individual to support the day-to-day running of the back office operations, ensuring that all functions work together strategically and efficiently.
Operational business streams you will oversee include:
- HR
- Finance
- Compliance
- Health & Safety
- Procurement
- Marketing & Communications
Each of these areas has capable individuals handling daily tasks, but this role focuses on connecting and aligning the departments, building the bigger picture strategy as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support when departments face tight deadlines, audits, illness, or holidays — this is not just a management role but requires a proactive, 'roll your sleeves up' approach.
- Work alongside the MD, FD, and OD to manage, support, and develop personnel across all operational departments.
- Review and enhance systems, processes, and training programs to support continual business growth and operational excellence.
- Act as the strategic link between departments, driving collaboration, efficiencies, and best practices across the business.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience working within an SME environment (circa 40+ employees), with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities this presents.
- Comfortable managing multiple departments and leading both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational needs.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive mindset with a hands-on, team-first attitude, able to communicate from the MD down to the graduates in the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a varied role and is passionate about building high-performing business functions within a growing organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ideally, a degree in a relevant subject (Finance, HR, Marketing, Business)
- Experience is key, being able to demonstrate how you have managed and developed different departments before within an SME (Under 200 people)
