Job Overview
Are you able to combine strategic thinking, operational experience and change management skills to make a real difference to mental health service provision? Would you like a leadership role where you can design and implement new ways of working, using your knowledge and skills to energize and empower staff teams? The Associate Director of Flow and Bed Optimisation will be the lead role responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day management of a bed flow team. You will be expected to ensure that mental health beds are allocated effectively and that people are discharged safely and quickly, ensuring good bed flow. You will have oversight of a team, directly managing some team members and working with a wide range of hospital and community teams to implement new ways of working. Therefore, you will be a fantastic communicator and able to influence and motivate people.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of streamlined processes to monitor, report, and track patients throughout their pathway.
- Ensure that data is validated throughout the patient journey and inputted into local systems.
- Coordinate across the Trust, focusing on national and local access targets, particularly regarding OAPS reduction.
- Guide and support operational teams to optimize bed flow.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Criteria:
- Masters level education or equivalent relevant experience in the management of complex pathway processes and hospital flow.
- Substantial recent experience in a management/lead role in optimizing flow within complex planned and unplanned care pathways.
- Registered with a statutory professional body or demonstrable ability to support and influence good clinical practice.
- Clinical experience and credibility to lead people with clinical qualifications and backgrounds.
