We’re looking for a Property & Liability Underwriter to join our experienced and collaborative team. You’ll work closely with a portfolio of brokers to help them grow their business sustainably while delivering great outcomes for our customers.
A bit about the job
This role exists to help Aviva deliver tailored insurance solutions for mid‑market customers. You’ll join our Glasgow underwriting team, which works closely with brokers to provide expert advice and competitive products. You’ll manage your own book of business, support our senior underwriter and team manager, and use data insights to make informed decisions. You’ll play a key role in achieving our financial goals while building strong, lasting relationships.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Proven underwriting experience in Property & Liability – confident in assessing mid‑market risks and making sound decisions.
- Relationship‑building and communication skills – able to engage brokers and customers, understand needs, and negotiate effectively.
- Analytical and decision‑making ability – skilled at interpreting data and risk factors to create tailored terms.
- Time management and prioritisation – capable of handling multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
- Professional development and compliance awareness – ACII qualification (or working towards) and knowledge of FCA rules and regulations.
What you’ll get for this role:
- Starting salary between £40,000 and £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity – 8% of annual salary; actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
