Mills & Reeve have an opportunity for a Knowledge Lawyer to support the Private Client team in any of our regional offices.
The role
We are seeking a solicitor or professionally qualified person to work with our existing Senior Knowledge Lawyer, providing support to colleagues in our national Private Client team (“PC”). Key elements of the KL role include:

These responsibilities should be allocated and managed within the PC Knowledge Team.
The person
Given the responsibilities, your background will likely demonstrate:
- Experience as a Qualified Solicitor or equivalent, with at least four years PQE in Private Client law
- Strong drafting and written skills
- Excellent IT skills related to knowledge management and information dissemination
- Knowledge of private client law, practice, and the private wealth sector; experience in contentious private client, international, charities, landed estate work, or advising business owners is advantageous
- Enthusiastic, committed, and professional approach to improving legal knowledge and skills, fostering team cohesion
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of role modeling the firm's values
- Interest in developing private client practice, innovation, and technology in legal services
The activities
Effective Working
Supporting the PC team’s growth through:
- Developing shared advice, implementation, and file management approaches
- Involvement in Pricing & Productivity initiatives, including financial management and time monitoring
- Engagement in innovation initiatives, including AI and data management
Training
Ensuring colleagues have access to targeted, high-quality training to develop technical, commercial, and client management skills. Responsibilities include designing, delivering, or facilitating training, collaborating with the Learning & Development team, and managing training resources and budgets.
Resource
Providing colleagues with necessary knowledge and resources through:
- Researching external legal developments and reporting to the team
- Sharing best practices and know-how
- Drafting and maintaining precedents and resources
- Implementing and maintaining knowledge management systems
National Profile
Enhancing the firm's reputation in the private wealth sector by:
- Generating content for media and digital channels
- Creating client updates
- Managing and improving team web pages
