Opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join a BRAND NEW home located in Lancing.

This pioneering project offers a nurturing, homely, and safe environment for up to two children (aged 10-18) with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

When children leave the home, we want them to feel confident, prepared, and ready to embrace their future with optimism.

Key Responsibilities:

* Build strong, positive, and meaningful relationships with children.

* Develop and implement individualised strength-based plans.

* Advocate for children, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.

* Support children in their educational, training, and employment aspirations.

* Facilitate and participate in hobbies, interests, and recreational activities.

* Ensure children’s health and well-being by managing appointments and liaising with healthcare professionals.

* Promote emotional and mental well-being through positive interactions and therapeutic practices.

* Maintain a safe, secure, and homely environment.

* Uphold safeguarding and protection protocols.

* Keep accurate, timely, and detailed records.

* Act as a role model, demonstrating best practices in childcare and professional conduct.

What We’re Looking For:

Compassion & Empathy – A warm, understanding, and non-judgmental approach.
Child Safeguarding Knowledge – A strong commitment to keeping children safe.

Excellent Communication & Organisation Skills – The ability to engage effectively with both children and colleagues.
Understanding of Developmental Trauma – Awareness of its impact and how to support affected children.
Behaviour Management Skills – Confidence in handling challenging situations and de-escalating conflicts.

Experience At least two years of experience working with children or young people.

Hours & Benefits:

* Full-time role following a structured 3-week rolling rota (e.g., Monday 09:30 – Tuesday 10:00, then off until Thursday 09:30). Includes weekend work and on-call duties.
