Snyk’s Incubation Accelerator is seeking a Staff Engineer with a Backend & Systems focus to support our Principal Engineers in the design, development, and deployment of groundbreaking products. This role will involve implementing features, working on infrastructure, and contributing to tooling, requiring versatility across various aspects of the backend and systems landscape. You will play a key role in bringing to life our Agentic UX vision and the integration of technologies like SAST/DAST. Familiarity with the broader ecosystem, including Hugging Face, OpenAI, and cloud platforms, will be a significant asset.
As a Staff Incubation Engineer within Snyk’s Incubation Accelerator, you’ll design, ship, and own key backend projects for a new product. We are looking for individuals who have full stack experience in enterprise products, and have built products before where machine learning is a key component.
You’ll Spend Your Time
- Building, experimenting and optimising RAG and multi-step, event driven AI pipelines.
- 0-1 product development: rapidly prototype new ideas, work with the team to speak to customers about them, and iterate on the products.
- Designing new AI-native experiences including chat streaming, agentic workflows, generative user interfaces etc – while keeping customer value in focus.
- Designing, building and scaling of our backend infrastructure, with a focus on unique needs of AI products.
- Designing and implementing secure and high performing APIs, MCPs and services.
- Developing cloud and serverless infrastructure to support AI capabilities.
- Continuously optimizing reliability and observability of the pipeline and backend.
What You’ll Need
- 8+ years of relevant experience in software engineering with a focus on backend development (Go/Python).
- Familiarity with generative AI and LLMs, with experience shipping LLM based solutions to production a plus.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code.
- Deep knowledge of databases - design, migrations, scaling.
- Experience with designing different types of data pipelines, Airflow, event driven etc.
- Experience with serverless architectures.
- Understanding of security best practices and performance optimization.
