VIQU have partnered with a leading entity in operational technology and digital transformation. Operating in highly regulated and demanding industrial sectors, they have successfully executed pivotal projects across energy, nuclear, renewables, water, and manufacturing domains.
They are seeking a Financial Accountant to join their central team, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. In this key role, you will support the day-to-day finance operations, contribute to ad hoc projects, and provide cover for colleagues across both the purchase and sales ledger functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:- Complete daily cash reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and submit weekly forecasts.
- Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and project allocations.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and conduct quarterly cut-off reviews.
- Produce monthly cost reports and carry out variance analysis in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Generate weekly utilisation reports and analyse trends.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare capital expenditure reports for bi-weekly committee meetings.
- Support interim and year-end audits, including preparation of statutory accounts and addressing audit queries.
- Assist with sales and purchase ledger activities as required.
- Provide support with ad hoc tasks during peak periods across the finance function.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting within a project-based or professional services setting, with exposure to time and expense management.
- Actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (eg ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong capability in financial systems and accounting software.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong reconciliation skills with a methodical approach and high standard of accuracy.
- Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive approach to reviewing and validating work.
