Vertical Drop is an independent podcast studio in the heart of Clerkenwell. We produce high-quality video podcasts, focusing on crisp visuals and crystal-clear audio using industry-standard equipment.
The Role
We’re looking for a technically minded Studio Assistant to support our podcast production sessions. This is a hands-on freelance role that’s perfect for a student studying audio or sound engineering, or anyone with solid experience in studio tech and an interest in content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment before and after recordings.
- Monitor and manage sound levels during sessions.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment such as:
- Sony A6400 DSLR cameras (x3)
- RØDE Procaster XLR mics
- Zoom F6 recorder
- Sony MDR headphones (x6)
- RGB/Colour Temp LED studio lighting
What We’re Looking For
- Must be based in London and able to work on-site in Clerkenwell.
- Experience working with audio equipment in a studio or live environment.
- Confidence in handling DSLR camera setups and LED lighting.
- Currently studying or with a background in sound/audio engineering.
- Reliable, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Flexible with hours – you’ll be scheduled around recording sessions.
Nice to Have
