Mechanical Design Engineer with a keen interest in hydraulics who is driven and self-motivated urgently required to join a skilled engineering team within a business who are at the forefront of innovative Marine Engineering. Working on both current and future projects as they continue to expand, you will take ownership of marine mechanical solutions with a specialist focus on hydraulics from concept through to commissioning.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Hydraulics

£40,000 - £55,000 + Pension + Life Assurance + 25 Days Holiday Hampshire Ref: 24519

Mechanical Design Engineer (Hydraulics) - The Role:

  • Collaborate with a small, dynamic team of engineers to develop systems for commercial, leisure and shipping sectors of the Marine Industry
  • Design and specification of hydraulic systems from producing schematics to 3D modelling and manufacturing drawings of manifolds and other components
  • Produce documentation and calculations to support designs
  • Modelling of hydraulic systems with Simcenter AMEsim for validation of systems
  • Develop and test hydraulic systems
  • Supplier selection and management
  • Commissioning and technical support for vessels
  • Be an integral part of the mechanical team, taking additional involvement in other areas of mechanical design as needed

Mechanical Design Engineer (Hydraulics) - The Person:

  • Higher education within a Fluid Power, Mechanical, Electrical, control systems or related field.
  • NFPC (or equivalent) Hydraulics Training (this could be provided for a suitable candidate).
  • Strong understanding of Industrial and Mobile hydraulic systems and components
  • Understanding of Mechanical systems with experience with CAD design
  • Experience in creation of hydraulic schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail & able to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to cross-functional team members
  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience with Simcenter AMEsim simulation software is an advantage
