Job Overview: Here at BestOdds, we are looking for a motivated individual to join our Sportsbook team. The successful candidate will have a good Horse Racing knowledge but be flexible working within a small team and assisting on other sports. As a Sports Trader, you will be responsible for completing daily Sportsbook tasks, as well as being able to utilise data to closely monitor critical metrics on Racing and on our brand in general. The ideal candidate will be an individual who can work within a start-up mentality, be proactive and want to constantly learn on the job.
What you’ll be doing:
- Creating, monitoring and settling of Sportsbook content across sports.
- Help ensure the smooth running of the wider racing product.
- Profile horse racing customers and manage the client base.
- Using available data, provide insights which can help to form Risk Management decisions.
- Assist with the provision of an ante post and horse racing specials service.
- Collect and process sportsbook-related data from our current database.
- Collaborate within the Sportsbook team to understand the needs and provide actionable insights to help with overall margin, acquisitions and retention.
- Closely monitor overall business performance.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling through analysis of customer data and interactions.
About You:
- A strong passion and knowledge of Horse Racing.
- Good knowledge and interest in sports in general.
- At least one year of experience in a similar role is required.
- A high level of numerical and analytical skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- A quick learner who can adopt a versatile approach to the role, assisting other areas of the business if needed.
- Work on your own initiative without the need for constant supervision.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English is required.
- Willing to work shift patterns including evenings and weekends.
