We are looking for a Lead Program Instructor to join the Autobahn Driver Academy. The ideal candidate will excel in delivering Driver Academy programs, managing corporate outings, and providing private instruction. They should have a strong passion for driver education, exceptional customer service skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent, top-tier customer service and driver training to members, guests, invitees, track rental clients, race teams, and automotive manufacturers.
- Support the Manager in scheduling and executing a variety of driver training programs, including Race Schools, Private Instruction, Corporate Outings, and High-Performance Driving sessions for both members and the public.
- Assist in creating, organizing, executing, and managing curriculum and instructional systems, covering introductory and advanced high-performance driving, as well as race license certification.
- Lead classroom sessions and act as the Lead Instructor for Academy programs.
- Respond promptly to inquiries about Academy programs, helping clients select the right programs, and coordinating scheduling and purchases.
- Oversee the Performance Fleet and Academy cars, ensuring they are ready for all programs, including maintenance, fueling, and cleanliness.
- Maintain logbooks for vehicles, tracking usage, mileage, wear, and any incidents.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks for Academy and Fleet vehicles, including checking pad wear, tire depth, and other consumables.
- Ensure proper display and organization of Performance Fleet and Academy cars when not in use.
- Maintain accurate records for all drivers, including minors, team testing drivers, and external coaches.
- Contribute to the creation and distribution of promotional and educational videos for the Academy.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in motorsports, with strong skills in instruction, training, and driving.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work under tight time constraints and occasional long hours, particularly during days with multiple events and programs.
- Must be located or willing to relocate to the Chicagoland area.
- A personable, outgoing individual with a strong customer service focus, capable of building positive relationships with members, guests, and clients.

- Quick thinker with the ability to manage last-minute requests from members and clients effectively.

Work Environment:
- Fast-paced on most days, with occasional low-volume member and client days dedicated to office work.
Equipment:
- Proficiency with general office equipment, radio communications, audiovisual tools, driving simulators, and data collection equipment (e.g., Garmin).
Schedule:
- The primary working season runs from March to November, with some off-season meetings in person and via Zoom.
- Responsibilities include the development and implementation of off-season programs (e.g., physical training, car preparation, track guides).
- Days off are scheduled based on member and client activities, typically with Mondays off in conjunction with other non-event days.
