Envision Racing is a UK-based Formula E team competing in the FIA Formula E World Championship. With a proven track record of success and a commitment to innovation and sustainability, we are looking for a qualified and experienced Simulation Performance Engineer to join our Engineering team and contribute to our pursuit of performance at the highest level of electric motorsport. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

This role will sit within the Simulation Engineering group and have responsibility to develop the simulation understanding and software tools. Assist simulator sessions and track tests, and be based at the Remote Operations Room during race events. Lead offline simulations, and analysis tool and model development using Matlab/Python/VBA/etc. Contribute to future vehicle development through insight gained from simulation results analysis. Deliver clear, data-driven feedback to inform car setup and race strategy decisions.

Key skillset requirements are:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a vehicle performance engineering role at a high level of motorsport (e.g. Formula E, F1, F2, F3, IndyCar, WEC).
  • Strong engineering ability with excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to data analysis.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics and interaction with electric powertrain control systems.
  • Understanding of heat exchange dynamics and simulation.
  • Proficient with modern data analysis tools, ideally ATLAS.
  • Experience developing and using simulation tools for performance analysis and race preparation.
  • Strong planning, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.

Additional attributes our candidates should possess are:

  • Proactive mindset, self-motivated, and committed to delivering performance gains.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate engineering information clearly.
  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical or Motorsport Engineering, or a related field.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and availability to work on weekends is essential.

This position is based at Silverstone in our purpose-built workshop, with free onsite parking, an onsite gym, and access to peaceful woodland surroundings. The position requires flexibility and a willingness to travel regularly.
