The role: You will be responsible for leading our NDT team, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. You will lead the team to identify appropriate methods and carry out NDT inspection of both new and in-service components to meet all operational requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Inspect components using the correct NDT methods for Race team, Race support team and any other projects requiring the use of NDT inspection; meeting the required deadlines and ensuring on time delivery to the end user.
- Ensure components are inspected using appropriate NDT techniques to department standards, sampling rates, and that record keeping is accurate.
- Liaise with engineers regarding non-conformance and findings during inspection or reporting review stages.
- Ensure lab equipment is kept in good working order and any issues are reported and rectified.
- Ensure workload is processed and released to the next operation in accordance with scheduling.
- Work with management to improve department efficiency.
- Support staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure the team competencies and capabilities reach the business goals and expectations.
The Person:
The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, thorough knowledge of NDT processes (UT, PT, MP, ET, RT, CT, & AE) and an NDT Level 2 or 3 PCN or EN4179 accreditation. We are looking for a natural and experienced people leader, who can develop a cohesive team that performs well under pressure. You should be a high performing individual with a strong work ethic, and able to remain focused whilst working to strict deadlines. Effective communication and an attention to detail is important, and enthusiasm for collaborative teamwork is essential.
