TEXO Recruitment are excited to be recruiting a Crane Engineer on behalf of our external client based in Newcastle upon Tyne on a Permanent basis! As a crane engineer with electrical experience, you will be part of a team primarily responsible for crane maintenance and installation. In addition, as we are a multi-skilled team, you will be expected to support and carry out projects utilising a variety of lifting techniques and the inspection of general lifting equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out, build, servicing, inspection and repair of machinery and equipment at customer premises or on site.
- Diagnose specific fault issues and action appropriately.
- Ensure all service information is read, understood and filed.
- Correctly file all service manuals and ensure they are consistently updated.
- Undertake all work strictly in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and recommendations.
- Escalate the appropriate action in relation to broken or damaged company equipment.
- Work with the customer in mind, ensuring that quality work standards are maintained consistently and that post work, the repair site is clean and left in a condition that satisfies the customer.
- Submit and revise documentation based on comments received back from client and wider team.
- Be the main point of contact for technical issues on allocated projects.
- Recognise and communicate business opportunities within ongoing projects.
- Liaise with design engineer to ensure bespoke projects are on track.
- Ensure that high standards of health and safety in the workplace are maintained.
- Support lifting projects utilising your specialist engineering skill set and seek to broaden your skill set.
- Ensure that self-image is a key contributor to promoting company business and maintain both personal image and vehicle condition and cleanliness to an exceptional standard at all times.
- Willing to work alongside the wider team and learn new skills including lifting and moving machinery and vessel projects.
- Any other duties reasonably requested.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship to NVQ level 3 in a related industry.
- Experience repairing, maintaining and inspecting Cranes.
- Slinger & CSCS cards.
- Can demonstrate testing and inspection techniques.
- Can demonstrate ability to plan complex lifting operations.
- Produce supporting documentation and experience of colour coding techniques.
- Experienced in heavy lift operations.
- Competent with Microsoft Office.
- Driving license.
- Knowledge of LOLER and PUWER.
- Good communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels.
- Flexibility to support projects outside of normal hours.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- LEEA – progression through the modules.
- Complete additional training to meet customer requirements.
