We are growing our Commercial and Construction expertise and are looking for someone with general commercial and non-contentious construction law experience, who wishes to play an active role in the development of the practice. This role will be ideal for someone who wishes to undertake a range of commercial work, whilst developing a non-contentious construction law practice.
The role is based within our Commercial team, but will require you to work closely with the wider Business Services Team and our contentious construction solicitors on business development activities. We would expect a strong background in a wide range of commercial contract and data protection work, ideally combined with past experience in advising on construction law matters, including JCT and NEC contracts. We will also consider strong candidates who do not currently have construction contract experience, but are committed to developing this skillset.
Our clients range from large international corporations to owner managed businesses, to start-ups and scale-ups. We accordingly require someone who can tailor their approach and presentation to the individual client. We require a highly developed sense of commercial and practical acumen – our clients are looking for real world solutions, not “perfect” theoretical answers. Being able to bridge the gap between what would be ideal legally, and what will work in practical terms is essential to success in this role.
You will be sufficiently experienced that you will be able to act without extensive supervision on a range of matters. However, support will always be available, especially on more complex work or when working in new areas. You will be willing to engage in peer-to-peer discussions on more complex matters and in supporting and developing more junior members of the team. This is a rare opportunity for somebody to progress their career and help build a practice in a hugely supportive environment. Apply now with your CV if this sounds like the next role for you!
