Vickerstock are working in partnership with a Tier One Building & Civil Engineering contractor to support in the recruitment of an experienced Temporary Works Designer to join their growing team of technical experts. With a number of offices throughout the UK delivering major infrastructure and build projects, the successful individual can be based in either Hillsborough or Manchester.
Your new role as a Structural Engineer (Temporary Works Design) involves reporting to the Design Manager and working alongside a highly experienced team that includes structural, civil and geotechnical engineers. You will assist with all aspects of Temporary Works Design for projects at both tender and construction stage. You will produce designs, calculations, associated drawings and risk assessments. Calculations will include structural steel & concrete design, mobile crane working platform foundation design, hoarding design, formwork, falsework & scaffolding design.
What you will need to succeed:
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Working towards Chartered status or recently chartered
- Extensive experience in structural design, some exposure to temporary works design is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Masterseries, Tedds and AutoCAD
