Spectrum Vessel Services, based in Ramsgate, UK, are a leading provider of marine services in the UK and Northwest Europe, specialising in crew transfer and survey vessel operations. Our commitment to safety, efficiency, and professionalism sets us apart in the industry. Spectrum Vessel Services own and operate five crew transfer vessels that operate in the offshore renewable and cables sectors. All Spectrum vessels have been purposefully modified to accommodate a survey capability that does not impact their original design to conduct safe, fast, comfortable transport and transfer of personnel and cargo to offshore assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake safe and efficient manoeuvring, navigation and operation of the vessel.
- Provide a high standard of service throughout the entire process of transferring technicians and vessel survey operations.
- Conduct and lead necessary onboard training.
- Lead emergency preparedness onboard, including regular drills, emergency response planning, and ensuring compliance with maritime safety regulations.
- Complete and report incident logs as required.
- Conduct and document regular inspections and maintenance of the vessel in line with established procedures, including monitoring the high standards of housekeeping throughout the vessel.
- Monitor weather conditions, conduct passage planning, and assess operational risks before each transfer to ensure safe and efficient voyages.
- Adhere to instructions from the shoreside management team.
- Support engineers with vessel maintenance tasks as required.
- Complete onboard administrative tasks and maintain accurate record-keeping.
- Foster a strong safety culture onboard and ensure familiarity for all crew and passengers with all safety equipment, protocols, instructions, and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (MARPOL) by managing waste disposal, monitoring fuel efficiency, and preventing pollution at sea.
- Attend meetings when available.
- Perform any additional ad hoc tasks as needed to effectively fulfil your role.
